Cotswold Farm Park Holidays
Cotswold Farm Park – the home of BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson – is one of the Cotswolds’ top family-friendly days out. And you can have it on your doorstep with a stay at Cotswold Farm Park Holidays, recent winners of a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award.
There’s a choice of simple camping pods with bunk beds and a shared bathroom, kitchen and laundry. Or rustic luxury safari tents, which sleeps five in two bedrooms. Notgrove Holidays
Surrounded by 1500 acres of peaceful countryside, the Notgrove Estate is a relaxing spot for glamping in the Cotswolds. This family-run farm in the small village of Notgrove has miles of walking and cycling routes as well as resident alpacas, goats, donkeys and highland cattle.
Notgrove has a mix of glamping pods which sleep four and canvas safari lodges for up to six. Both feature en-suite bathrooms, kitchenettes and a fire pit. The lodges also come with a woodburner. And there’s a games room, tennis courts and a mini football pitch for guests to use.

Westwell Downs
For a luxurious take on glamping in the Cotswolds, try Westwell Downs near Burford. This fourth-generation family farm has three boutique, adults-only shepherd’s huts surrounded by miles of unspoilt countryside. Each hut sleeps two, with a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. They’re all individually decorated, including wingback chairs, log burners and compact kitchens.
You can buy honey and eggs produced on the farm – or the owners can recommend top-quality local suppliers to sort out a dinner hamper for you if you don’t fancy cooking. And the huts all have a private wood-fired hot tub and a fire pit for romantic evenings under the stars.

Campden Yurts
Campden Yurts is a family-friendly Cotswold glamping site a short walk outside historic Chipping Campden. They have just two yurts, which can be booked together or separately, giving it a quiet, private feel. Yurts sleep up to five and include a woodburner for chilly nights.
Each yurt also has a spacious private bathroom, and there are communal cooking facilities, with an outdoor cook hut with oven, grill and hob plus a utility room. This is where you can charge electricals as there’s no power inside the yurts, but solar and fairy lights add sparkle. Big Skies Glamping
Get back to nature at Big Skies Glamping, set among tranquil wildflower meadows right on the route of the Cotswold Way but only a few miles from Cheltenham. This working family farm has two glamping options to choose from. There are two safari tent lodges sleeping up to five, or three bell tents sleeping four in a private meadow – so you could hire them all for a group getaway.
Duvets, rugs and tea light chandeliers give the tents a cosy feel, with fire pits for toasting marshmallows. One lodge has its own toilet, but the others share a communal block with showers and composting toilets – the site is Greener Camping Club-certified for its eco credentials.

The Wildings farm campsite south of Bourton-on-the-Water has an array of different glamping options, including wooden pods, tipis, yurts, a bell tent and wooden Hyssop hut. So there’s something to suit you, whether you want a romantic break or a family trip, prefer to have heating and electricity or want to go off-grid. And everything is done as sustainably as possible.
There are plenty of showers and toilets plus a communal cookhouse and a farm shop with a coffee shop, milkshake bar and retro sweet shop. And you can tailor your stay with add-on extras like outdoor pizza ovens for summer or hot water bottles and hot chocolates for winter.

Middle Lypiatt Glamping
Want to go on safari without leaving the Cotswolds? Middle Lypiatt Glamping’s two safari tents are as near as you can get. The tents – named Toadsmoor and Middle after old workers’ cottages on the estate – sleep six and eight, making them ideal for a family or friends getaway.
Each tent is raised up on a platform, with spacious decks looking out over 12 acres of fields and woodland. The Fuselage
If you’ve tried yurts, shepherd’s huts and tents and fancy something different, head to Lypiatt Hill for a stay at The Fuselage. This unusual cabin’s design is inspired by a plane’s fuselage, with curved sides and sleek design using sustainably sourced wood and recycled aluminium.
Inside there’s a double bed, a set of bunks and folding furniture to make the most of the space. A wood-burning stove and underfloor heating keep it warm and snug. And outside you have a separate timber kitchen, toilet and shower block, and a wood-fired hot tub to relax in. The secluded site has far-reaching views out over the Severn Estuary towards Wales but isn’t far from Stroud.

Things to do nearby: The Fuselage is two miles from Stroud for restaurants and its award-winning farmers’ market. Giffords Circus is based next door and you can see shows there in April and September. There are also local walks on the Cotswold Way and Laurie Lee Way.

The T Barn
Unplug and slow down with an off-grid stay at The T Barn Cotswold glamping site east of Cirencester. Their three shepherd’s huts combine simplicity and indulgence, with double beds, en-suite shower rooms with composting toilets, kitchenettes and wood-burning stoves.
It’s a place where you’ll want to spend as much time outside as possible, with an outdoor dining set, fire pit and Swedish wood-burning hot tub. The site also has several bell tents sleeping four available during the summer months, which have a shared bathroom block and washing up hut. You can order hampers to cook on the fire pit. And visitors can also book a tour of the farm.

Things to do nearby: The village of Barnsley is half a mile away, which is home to The Pig hotel and restaurant and The Village Pub. Cirencester is under five miles and you’re also close to Bibury (4 miles), Chedworth Roman Villa (8 miles) and the Cotswold Lakes (8 miles).

Painswick Glamping
Located on a family-run cattle farm in a peaceful location on the edge of the town, Painswick Glamping is a small campsite with a wooden glamping pod by a secluded lake. The Mill Pool Pod sleeps two, with a double bed and separate private bathroom with a pod shower and eco toilet.
There’s also a deck outside with a table and chairs and a fire pit where you can watch passing wildlife – deer are frequently spotted here. And there’s a covered pavilion with kitchen, lounge and games room with sofas and woodburner in case it rains, which is shared with the campsite.

Things to do nearby: It’s a 10-minute walk into Painswick where you’ll find St Mary’s Church, Painswick Rococo Garden, cafés, pubs and shops. There are lovely circular walks from Painswick to Painswick Beacon and the village of Slad. And you’re not far from Stroud (4 miles).
